Lost Your Pet?
We know that losing a pet can be a very traumatic experience. Accidents happen and we want to help you find your lost pet as quickly as possible. Here are some tips and resources to help you:
-
If your pet has a microchip, make sure the microchip is updated with your current contact info. You can also register your pet’s microchip for free through Found Animals Pet Registry.
-
Make flyers to hang around the area where the pet went missing with the pet’s photo, description, and your contact information. Place the flyer in a plastic sheet protector and hang with duct tape.
-
Submit a Lost Pet report with the shelter. Additionally, check all local shelters every day. Going to look in person is strongly recommended because not every animal that comes in is posted in a timely manner at every shelter.
-
Post a picture of your pet, general location lost, and a way to contact you in the following places (you may need to join the Facebook groups prior to being allowed to post):
-
Your neighborhood Facebook group where the pet was lost
-
PawBoost (free online service that will post to local Facebook for you)
-
NOTE: If pet was lost outside of Prattville in another town, search Facebook for that town’s lost and found pages.
-
Mission Reunite is a great website for resources and tips for all types of Lost Pet scenarios.
